Meet Pat
Pat Herrity has dedicated his life to public service, community leadership, and delivering common sense conservative results. Pat learned about public service around the kitchen table as his Dad led Virginia’s largest county with the strong conservative ideals of limited government, safe communities, and lower taxes. With over 45 years of experience as a business, sports, community and political leader, Pat is ready to bring his award winning, proven track record to Richmond as Virginia’s next Lieutenant Governor.

He gained a reputation as a “go-to” Chief Financial Officer who possesses leadership, management, and financial skills that ensure success in a fast-paced environment. He has relatives spread across Virgina – including a brother that owns a farm in Fauquier County and a brother and sister in law who are teachers in Henrico County. In 2009, Governor McDonnell appointed Pat to the Commission for Local Mandate Review which he was elected to chair. He traveled the state and learned of the many challenges faced by localities and led the creation of a report that resulted in a record number of state mandates being repealed.
First elected to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors in 2007, Pat quickly established himself as a results-driven conservative leader. Over his tenure, he spearheaded initiatives to enhance government transparency, improve public safety, champion fiscal responsibility, and implement critical transportation solutions. He stopped Fairfax from implementing a Meals Tax, has consistently opposed Soros-funded prosecutor Steve Descano, and saved taxpayer money through two rounds of pension reform. Pat’s efforts have earned him accolades including the President’s Award from the Fairfax County Federation of Teachers and being named the Gazette Newspaper’s Best Public Servant for the last seven years.
Today, Pat is the only remaining Republican elected official in Fairfax County, demonstrating his ability to win tough elections by championing conservative policy while delivering for his constituents. Since his first election in 2007, Northern Virginia has become ever more liberal. Pat has proven appeal, winning reelection resoundingly in 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023. His consistent victories in an overwhelmingly Democratic district demonstrate his ability to appeal across party lines with common-sense conservative solutions.
